baby michael is one.

I have been excited for over a year to throw my nephew, Michael, his first birthday party. My sister, Casey, said that he was in love with a little play barn that he received as a present from our Aunt Kay, so we decided to throw him a good 'ol barnyard bash in our hometown of Alhambra, Illinois.

I knew the invitations needed to be something special for little Michael, so I decided to go with this custom cut barn that gave a little peek-a-boo to what was inside.

No party is complete without custom thank-you's to send your guests. Michael requested to send a little howdy!

This custom Happy Birthday Banner was the first thing guests saw when walking in to the "barn." (aka Casey & I's parents house, which is at least near a farm:)

The tables were set with red and white checkered cloths and brown kraft paper. Mason jars containing bandana napkins, silverware and cutsie straws with pennants were at each place setting.

The opposite side of the straw pennant displayed Michael's official birthday party hashtag, which let's be honest, no party is complete without!

The centerpieces were so simple, yet cute as can be! A cut log with little farm animals and a jar of sunflowers were placed on each table.

I even got my hot glue gun out for this party. (I had been dying to do so for way to long) Here is a handmade party hat that Michael was not so thrilled to wear. At least it looked cute on his highchair.

Here's an instagram shot that Casey snagged of Michael and I having a ball. Please follow courtneywinetdesign on Instagram to stay up to date on all the festivities I help create. Can't wait until the 2nd birthday, Michael! Yee-haw!
